What it replaces

Andy takes over the work you are already paying for.

Every small business buys the same operational work twice over. An agency here, a contractor there, a shelf of tools, and the hours of whoever is left standing at eleven at night. Here is what that stack costs a business today, and what Andy does of it.

What the work costs today

The same job, bought three ways.

Before Andy, this work gets covered by a hire, by a bench of agencies, or by the owner on a Sunday. The first two have a published market rate. The third one is the most expensive of the lot and never shows up on a statement.

$112K–$125K

What a fully loaded small-business operations manager costs a year. Base of about $89,500 on the ZipRecruiter median, loaded 1.25x to 1.4x using US Bureau of Labor Statistics employer-cost data for benefits, payroll tax and overhead.

$5K–$12K/mo

What a fractional COO runs, for a slice of a week.

~$228K

A year of the agency and contractor stack, for the one bench we can cite line by line. The itemized version is further down this page.

Four ways to cover it

The same work, four different answers.

Andy is not the right answer to every row here. The bottom one is where a person wins and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

Advice, at best

No. Andy builds the case. A person decides.

If what you need is judgment, hire the person. If what you need is the other ninety percent of the job, that part is Andy.

The return

What one ledger stopped costing.

Not a projection. This is the vendor spend Andy took over at a real, running business, line by line.

What Andy does that used to cost money Used to cost
Content marketing, produced and managed $8,000/mo
Design and creative: flyers, promos, all collateral $2,500/mo
SEO and marketing optimization $2,000/mo
First-pass contract and compliance reading, flagged for a human $1,500/mo
Research, reporting and analytics $2,000/mo
New programs, built and launched end to end $3,000/mo
What that stack cost ~$19K/mo

Every line was real cost that was being paid before Andy took the work over. Your stack will look different.

What’s included

What we set up, and what we run.

What you get is a managed operator, not a software login you have to babysit.

A dedicated machine, run for you

A dedicated cloud machine that we provision, host, monitor and patch, and run for you. Your data is kept separate from other customers’ data. The security architecture explains how.

Setup, wired to your systems

Native authenticated connections into your email, calendar, chat, finance and analytics, scoped to exactly what you approve. Nothing is connected that you did not hand over.

Standing jobs and changes

Reports that fire on schedule, rules that match how you run, replies in your voice. You shape all of that yourself, mostly with a sentence in chat to Andy or a change in its settings.

Updates and support

Improvements roll out with nothing for you to do. If an update affects one of your customizations, we tell you in advance where we can. Support is an email to hello@andylabs.io, not a ticket queue.

FAQ

The questions about the actual work.

What happens in the first two weeks?

Week one is access and shape. We connect your email, calendar, chat, finance and analytics, then sit with you long enough to learn how the business actually runs, who the people are and what good output looks like. Week two is the first real job. You hand over one thing that eats your time, your Andy takes it on inside your systems, and you start reviewing finished work instead of describing it.

What does Andy need access to?

Only what the job requires, and nothing you have not granted. Usually that means email and calendar, your chat tool, your books and payment processor, and your analytics. Every credential is stored with access restricted to our systems, separate from every other customer’s. The security page walks through the whole arrangement.

What happens when Andy gets something wrong?

You tell it, in plain language, the way you would tell a person. The correction lands in the memory of your business, so it applies to the next draft and every draft after that. By default, anything Andy would send, publish, pay or delete is held for your approval, so most mistakes get caught before they reach anyone else.

Do I need technical staff to run this?

No. We set it up, connect it, run the machine and maintain it. Your job is to describe how your business actually works and, under the default rules, approve what gets sent, paid or deleted. If you can use email, you can run Andy.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You take it with you. Your data and the memory of your business are yours. You can ask for an export any time, in common, usable formats, not just when you leave. After the agreement ends there is a 90-day Exit Window to export your data or buy out your Andy. Then we delete your data, including Andy’s memory of it, and confirm the deletion in writing. Nothing is held hostage, because the relationship should rest on the work Andy does, not on your data being stuck.
